Missing data
Following on from an earlier thread (that I cannot find). EON replaced the smart meter in my remote property in December. A recent bill shows that the meter has the same MPAN (which reminds me of comments from my old lecturer, David Wheeler (https://bit.ly/3Z2esvc) - I think I'd be inclined to tie the number to the physical device + s/w config.
Until recently, the meter was recording what I expected: use only during Economy 7 periods (ie midnight to 7.30). However, 3 days ago, it started reporting zero use for all half hour slots. A neighbour confirmed for me that the heaters were drawing power.
Is it common for this sort of fail to occur (ie electricity is being used, but not captured by the meter) It clearly undermines the trustworthiness of smart meters?
Comments
Having found the 'nulls' parameter for
get/resource/{id}/readings, I can now see that the meter has stopped sending readings, as opposed to sending the wrong readings. How can I kick it back into action?
Using either the Brigth App, or the API, I can see that the Glow copy of the DCC readings for a few hours are nulls, while the register values coming from the bills from the supplier clearly have some values in these periods (the sum of the readings across time, ignoring nulls, is less than the change in the register values).
I'm sure it's not a coincidence that the missing data date from the day that the supplier changed the meter.
Is it possible to refresh the DCC data for this meter/ does that happen on a regular basis?
