        <description><![CDATA[<p>​Hi all,</p><p>&nbsp;I&rsquo;m a volunteer for a small village hall, and I wanted to share how we&#39;ve been using the glowmarket api, and say thanks to all who have unknowingly contributed. </p><p>We rent the hall to a number of user groups and private users, and charge them for their hourly usage of the hall plus electric used. Since we have electric heating this is the larger part of the bill in the winter months. ​Before this, we were still using a paper diary for bookings and asking users to manually record meter readings on a sheet of paper, for our treasurer to reconcile monthly.</p><p>​I&rsquo;m not a developer by trade; I&rsquo;ve relied almost entirely on &quot;vibe coding&quot; to cobble this together. a Google Apps Scripts that connects the Glowmarkt API to our Google Calendar. It pulls our 30-minute readings nightly and attributes the energy usage to specific bookings. It then populates a dashboard so we can make some analysis of where usage has been attributed, or not and helps inform our billing as well as check for usage outside of bookings.</p><p>​It&rsquo;s been working for us for the last 6 months or so, so I&rsquo;ve shared a limited version of the code on github here: </p><p><a href="https://github.com/BasslineSurvey/HallEnergyDashboard/" rel="nofollow">https://github.com/BasslineSurvey/HallEnergyDashboard/</a> </p><p>in case it helps another volunteer out there. </p><p>I&#39;m very keen for suggested improvements or any feedback from the more technically minded folks here on how to make it more robust.         <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi.</p><p>I have the bright app and also download meter readings via the api.  I also have solar and therefore export on occasion.   When exporting the app and api show a negative 1/2 hour consumption.</p><p>Let us suppose for simplification  that in a 30minute period I export 1kW for 15 minutes and import 1kW for the remaining 15 minutes. The nett usage recorded by the app and api is 0kWh I believe.  However I presume that the actual charge/payment is for 1/4 kWh at the relevant import and export rates.</p><p>Have I understood this correctly?  Or does the smart meter also agregate the flows over the half hour?</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Not sure whether this is the right forum but hopefully somebody can help me.</p><p>I have some bash scripts which tirelessly read my energy consumption using the API at <a href="https://api.glowmarkt.c" rel="nofollow">https://api.glowmarkt.c</a>om</p><p>I realised that I hadn&#39;t checked my graphs for a while and then found that I have no data since about 2025-10-02. In fact my API queries get the to date squashed to 2025-10-01T23:59:59</p><p>I also note that my Android &quot;Bright&quot; app has stopped working too. Looking at your forums, it&#39;s clear that something went wrong around that time but appears to have been fixed for most users.         <description><![CDATA[<p>Just set up with the Glowmarkt API to get my home smart meter readings. I was previously using Octopus (and before that, n3rgy) but switched supplier so can&#39;t get access through them any more.</p><p>I managed to use Python to access the API. My code is here if anyone&#39;s interested: <a href="https://github.com/benshep/scripts/blob/master/get_energy_usage.py" rel="nofollow">https://github.com/benshep/scripts/blob/master/get_energy_usage.py</a> I used asyncio to do requests asynchronously (unlike other code that&#39;s been posted here - so it should be faster), and I probably need to write something to refresh the token periodically.</p><p>Found a slight issue: trying to fetch the most recent readings, there are always a set of zero readings at the end of the time series. I can filter these out, but it would be nice if these were returned as NaNs instead.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I can&#39;t persuade either version (mobile app or PC webpage to display properly.  Displays report &quot;Glow Display SMETS 1 does not have Internet&quot; - however,  the IHD is reporting that it&#39;s joined to both my WiFi and the meter&#39;s.  Moreover,  my Python apps are able to get half-hourly meter readings and save them in my database (although there have been several instances where an individual payload.JSON file  has arrived corrupted.</p><p>I realise there were some problems last night and indeed <a href="https://glowmarkt.com/support/system-incidents" rel="nofollow">https://glowmarkt.com/support/system-incidents</a> is still reporting that a full recovery hasn&#39;t been made yet.  Hopefully it will be soon.</p><p>My query is why the displays are reporting &quot;does not have Internet&quot; when it really means  &quot;could not connect to glowmarkt server ?  The message was prompting me to reboot my PCs and router to try and correct situation when a more accurate response wouldn&#39;t have done that.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>While updating my Syslog server for my home network I noticed that for a very long time the Glow IHD has been following a pattern on connecting to WiFi and then disconnecting after about ten minutes and then shortly after reconnects.</p><p>I have four UniFi APs covering my home (channel overlap isn&#39;t an issue) and have tried moving it to another AP model and checked settings to ensure its not from the AP side and I cannot see any cause. The GlowIHD has an excellent signal as the nearest AP is in the same room and its the only 2.4Ghz device connecting to that AP.  </p><p>Is this part of the firmware design?</p><p>Note: I did consider an Ethernet IHD recently but their dependency on online configuration was a showstopper for me.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve recently started experiencing issues with my CAD GlowStick connecting to internet / Wi-Fi but not quite sure what&#39;s causing it.</p><p>Now I did change my WiFi APs a few weeks ago and this happened around a week later, however I&#39;m not sure if this is related as every other device on my network (including many ESP8266 / ESP32 based devices) have been fine. I&#39;ve also tried with a separate SSID that only the stick is connected to and WiFi Channels 1 &amp; 6 (20Mhz).</p><p>The stick itself when I reboot seems to flash the WiFi LED green for quite a while, and eventually it turns to red. </p><p>From what I can see the actual stick is connected to the WiFi AP based on the APs logs. My router also confirms that it&#39;s online with an active IP lease too.</p><p>I can also see the stick despite showing red for the WiFi LED, that it&#39;s actively making DNS lookups to ntp and a subdomain that then is for Glow (.cad.sensornet.info) making me think it might not actually be WiFi related.</p><p>Any help with diagnosis would be appreciated.</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>I received a new wired Glow CAD a few days ago and it connected to the SMET2 meter within a few minutes and started sending MQTT to HA. I was impressed!</p><p>However 12 hours later it got stuck in a loop requesting to join HAN and not being successful. That was 3 days ago, so not so impressed any more.</p><p>i have power cycled, opened up firewalls and had Octopus send a new join request via HAN but all with no luck so far.</p><p>i emailed @janeatglow via email a few times but have had zero response, which is quite disappointing. I hope I didn&rsquo;t buy a brick.</p><p>Any ideas out there on how to resolve this?</p><p>Many thanks Marc</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>Following on from an earlier thread (that I cannot find). EON replaced the smart meter in my remote property in December. A recent bill shows that the meter has the same MPAN (which reminds me of comments from my old lecturer, David Wheeler (<a href="https://bit.ly/3Z2esvc" rel="nofollow">https://bit.ly/3Z2esvc</a>) - I think I&#39;d be inclined to tie the number to the physical device + s/w config.  </p><p>Until recently, the meter was recording what I expected: use only during Economy 7 periods (ie midnight to 7.30).  However, 3 days ago, it started reporting zero use for all half hour slots. A neighbour confirmed for me that the heaters were drawing power.</p><p>Is it common for this sort of fail to occur (ie electricity is being used, but not captured by the meter) It clearly undermines the trustworthiness of smart meters?</p>]]>

        <description><![CDATA[<p>At <a href="https://glowmarkt.com/pages/property/energy-data" rel="nofollow">Glow for homes</a> I cannot download any electricity data.  The Smart meter display is up to date and the Ecotricity web site is up to date and the Bright app is almost up to date.  So it looks like the problem is with Glowmarkt?</p><p>It was working on 5th Jan but I changed tariff on the 6th, since then  GLowmarkt has not seen this change. Although the Bright app has latest consumption is still shows the old tariff.</p>]]>
